A perfect evening for me includes a a good book, a glass of wine and quiet. In that order.
Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to sample wines from The California Wine Club. You see, every month they send members two bottles to sample. If you absolutely love the selection, then you can order more bottles. Genius.
Now I’m not wine connoisseur, but I can appreciate a good bottle or two or three. There is something like gulping sipping the wine and swishing it around in your mouth before swallowing it. It makes for a good hobby. Not to mention it makes me interact with the characters in the book. Before you know it, we’ve created this bond and I’m offering the main character a glass of wine because it’s clear she needs a glass too. Just drama I tell you, lol!
Back to the wine. The November selection from the California Wine Club is the Sauvignon Blanc and the Temprarillo along with the Uncorked newsletter.
The Temprarillo reminds me of my birth stone, the ruby, with it’s rich and bright in color. Not to mention the scents of cinnamon and spice that remind me that fall is here along with the beautiful leaves that fall. I enjoyed this wine with a homemade veggie pizza and loved how the aromas of the wine mixed with the herbs from the pizza. Just magical.
Then there is the Sauvignon Blanc. As the liquid hit my tongue, they began to french kiss. It was something about the richness of this wine that went well with my spicy taco salad. And then there was the aromas of honeysuckle and mango that went well with my homemade peach and mango salsa. Mmmm!
