Baggage Claim, the highly anticipated movie based upon the book by playwright, David E. Talbert, hits theaters this weekend with an all-star cast in tow.
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to see an advance screening of Baggage Claim and I’m still laughing. The top-notch cast chosen for this movie was uber-impressive and well placed. Montana Moore (Paula Patton) is a 30-something flight attendant who finds herself manless and determined to get boo’d up before her baby sister (Lauren London) is married to her college boo (Terrance J(enkins).
Montana has 30 days to find her Mr. Right with the help of sidekicks Gail (Jill Scott) and Sam (Adam Brody). She is more than eager to rack up more than 30,000 airline miles while she coincidentally bump heads with her exes to see if she possibly made a mistake by dismissing them so soon. However, I say most exes are that for a reason… leave them there.
Let me warn you now, this movie is filled with chocolate … sexy chocolate. That box of chocolates Forest Gump was tal’m ’bout ain’t got nothing on this here chocolate. All I can say is that if you’re dieting then proceed with caution because they got me feeling some type of way.
Hol’ up men, David didn’t leave y’all hanging. My sisters didn’t shy away from their opportunity to shine, especially my girl Jilly from Philly (Jill Scott). I have to admit that Gail was my favorite character because Jill’s real life glow and life-size smile made her a perfect fit for this part.
As you can see, I loved Baggage Claim and the hilarious cast. I couldn’t ask for a better mid-week pick-me-up so grab the family and head out to check out this flick. Let’s make this a box-office hit! It’s safe to say that the men and women in attendance were very pleased as the room vibrated with laughter. And the soundtrack (Yes, Gawd!) … definitely another post.
Oh, and tell your cousin Pookie, I better not catch him bootlegging it. Support the arts!
