My life is busy. As I write this post, I’m preparing for Blogging While Brown 2014 in New York City. If you’re not familiar with the Blogging While Brown conference, founded in 2008, it has become the only conference tailored specifically for African-American bloggers, content curators and social media experts. Although, I’m ready to visit New York City again, I’m not looking forward to packing. I like have to remember clothes, shoes, feminine care items, devices, etc. It never gets easier.
This is my 3rd year attending Blogging While Brown and I’m eager to see the social media experts, bloggers and content creators who will travel from around the country to attend. Additionally, I’ll also be working as the social media manager for the conference and I don’t have time to fret with things that don’t involve Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, bloggers, etc. Honey, I gots work to do… and I ain’t complaining.
My mornings start early, 5am early. My goal daily is to get my morning walk in before the sun starts beaming at full throttle. Also, it’s quiet and I get a chance to listen to my music and tend to my soul. Soul care is beginning to be more and more important to me as my body is beginning to do some crazy things as I get older. These days my monthly friend, Claudine, comes and goes when she wants to, so pantyliners are a daily must for me.
Now when Claudine comes and rocks my world, I can’t stop living. I surely can. not. I have to keep. moving. However, I must feel. fresh. as I keep. moving. Yep, all those periods were on purpose because my feminine freshness is not up for negotiation or discussion. Understand? It must happen, period.
So, it was no big deal when Claudine showed up while I was at Blogging While Brown. Yes, she reported for duty early. However, it was no biggie because I never travel without packing Stayfree Ultra Thin Regular and Stayfree Overnight pads. NEVER! I learned this lesson years ago. If you stay ready then you ain’t got to get ready… especially for your monthly cycle.
In spite of Claudine’s unscheduled rudeness, my weekend at Blogging While Brown was still a success. Thanks to Stayfree, I didn’t skip a beat. I caught up with old friends, met new friends and my team and I rocked those social media accounts.
No matter how busy my day, I can’t stop living. Although this post is sponsored by Stayfree, I agreed because I actually use Stayfree Ultra Thin Regular and Overnight pads in “real” life. Yes, I’d even make the perfect ambassador. I’ve been using their feminine products since I had my first cycle and all the women in my family do, too. It’s our brand of choice.
What about you? What makes you feel confident when your monthly visitor shows up? As long as I have my Stayfree pads, pain killers and herbal tea, I’m good!
P.S. When you buy any 3 products – Stayfree, Carefree or o.b., you get a $5 Walmart eGift card reward. Thanks #CollectiveBias.
