Disclosure: This blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Cricket Wireless #STSA blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.

I remember when I got my first cell phone in 1996. It was a great complement to my beeper. You remember those, right? As I think back to those days, I can still recall the butterflies that I felt when the bill arrived in the mail. The amount I paid for monthly service was a bit much in those early days of cellular use. However, Cricket Wireless arrived on the scene in Memphis and the game changed. I have always been a fan of their one price billing and I’ve partnered with them to bring you this post, because we’re cool like that.

I became a Cricket Wireless customer in 2002 with the old-school Nokia. Not to mention, everyone in my house had Cricket Wireless. The plan prices were affordable and there were no hidden fees. As I think about it, Cricket Wireless was offering unlimited service before it became the trendy thing to do. They definitely set the trend, but the coverage area and selection of cellular phones was limited. Did you ever try calling someone with Cricket back in the day only to find the person was outside the service area?

That’s all changed now. Cricket Wireless has been in the kitchen and they’re serving up great phone selections and offers, wider coverage areas and affordable plan pricing. What’s not to love? Did I mention that taxes and fees are included in the prices and you never have to guess how much your bill will cost? I find this extremely useful when you have children on a family plan.

Of course, cellular phone plans can be expensive even in 2015. But Cricket Wireless has great prices along with additional discounts. If you Auto-Pay your bill like me, then you’ll save $5 each month. And with Group Save, you can save with each additional line, up to $100/mo. with five eligible lines. This is great for you, the spouse and the children. Maybe they can stop borrowing your phone to play MineCraft while ignoring your precious incoming calls! Even better, if you’re single like me, you can gather up four of your friends and sign up together so you can save big this holiday season.

If you’re anything like me, you keep your smartphone with you at all times and reliable coverage means everything. As I prepare to travel to Charleston, S.C. for a press trip, I can appreciate that Cricket Wireless’ network now covers 98% of Americans. Me without my phone is like Halloween without candy. It’s just not…

So head over to Cricket Wireless today and check out their great deals and plans. You can even keep your current smartphone with their BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. They’ll just switch out the SIM card and you’re good to go. I’m in the market for a phone line exclusively for clients, so I’m definitely checking out the new Cricket Wireless.

Looking to switch? Cricket has some amazing holiday offers right now, be sure to check them out!

I’m looking to upgrade from Tracphone but don’t want to spend a ton. This looks like it may be a good option.

  • I used to be a Cricket Wireless customer back in 1996, it was the only one with reasonable rates. When I moved they didn’t have a cricket cell phone tower in the remote location I moved to then, so I had to switch providers. But Cricket was my first ever affordable cell phone service.

  • Cricket Wireless does seem to have a lot of great pricing options! I really like their Bring Your Own Device program. How clever 🙂

  • I have never heard of Cricket when I was still in the States but it sounds like an awesome company and offer.

We are locked into a contract but are happy with it. I like this as an option for a first phone to make sure they are responsible with it and understand how bills work.
