Win Big with UnitedHealthcare: Are You a Health Plan Pro?

by Notorious Spinks on 10.14.2016

In 2014, more than $3 trillion was spent on health care in the United States. Unfortunately, this number continues to increase yearly making it important to know what health insurance options exist and which plan is best for you and your family.

To help consumers make smarter choices and increase their overall knowledge about health plans, UnitedHealthcare created the cool and fun portal, “Are You a Health Plan Pro?” This cool game is broken into four stages:

Stage 1: If terminology has you stuck, take the UnitedHealthcare quiz to learn more about many of the terms used in the health care industry and by health care professionals.

Stage 2: Do you visit your doctor’s office often? Play the match game that teaches you all about health plan accounts like the HSA, FSA and HRA and how they can make your visits to the doctor more affordable.

Stage 3: Because every health care situation is different, UnitedHealthcare’s slider tool helps you to estimate the ratio between out-of-pocket costs and premium charges.

Stage 4: .Use this tool to find out what services are most or least expensive by ranking them. You may be wasting money and time going to the ER when you could just be going to Urgent Care or using Virtual Visits through your health plan.

In addition to the knowledge, UnitedHealthcare is giving you the chance to win a $100 weekly prize and a $500 monthly prize. I’m not sure about you, but with the holidays coming up I can use this extra cash.

As health care continues to evolve and more options become available, it’s important that we expand our knowledge and UnitedHealthcare is helping us do just that. Don’t miss out on your chance to win big and know your options as we prepare for open enrollment in the new year.

Drop any comments or questions below and enter our giveaway. One ends 10/31 and the other ends 11/30. Then head over and win big at UnitedHealthCare with “Are You a Health Plan Pro?”

We are blessed with great coverage from my work. Still a high deductible plan but one that is affordable. I love learning more about options out there though.

  • I feel extremely fortunate to live in Denmark where healthcare is handled by an 8% payroll deduction and administered by the government. It’s expensive, but the amount of time I don’t have to spend thinking about it is worth the extra cost. When I went from corporate employee to freelancer, I didn’t give health insurance a thought. Health insurance is one thing I’ll dread dealing with if I ever move back to the States.

  • I hate to admit it, but I am the farthest thing from a healthcare pro. I really need to increase my knowledge in this extremely important area. Thanks for sharing this great resource! And I agree! With the holidays right around the corner, any extra spending money is more than welcome!

Anything that helps people sort through the mess. I’ve got a solid understanding of the system and still get frustrated very often.

  • Health plans are definitely confusing and not affordable. If you want good coverage without high oop costs, you must pend a a small fortune a month for a family. I pay almost $300 with united healthcare just for me and it’s not anything super!

  • Healthcare plans can be super confusing. I remember getting my very first insurance plan. I remember being super confused with the way the plan worked.

I can say that I’m not really good with choosing a health care plan..Altough I am actually with United Health Care myself. I think it’s a great health care plan too.

I am definitely not a health plan pro. I need to change my coverage come November and will definitely look into United Healthcare plans. Awesome giveaway too! 🙂

  • This sounds like a great option for health care! I need to double check that my plan is still what is best suited for me and my family as well.

  • I’m already a member. It wasn’t easy to find an affordable healthcare plan that offered what I needed in a plan but I eventually did. So far so good, I don’t have any complaints with the insurance.
